CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-411 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CLOSING OF ~IN STREET <br />FOR CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING AND AMENDING TPZ <br />BUDGET TO REFLECT THE INCREASED OVERTIME COSTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Pleasanton Junior Women's Club is holding a <br />Christmas tree lighting ceremony in front of the <br />police department on Wednesday, December 2, 1981, <br />beginning at 7:00 p.m. and ending approximately <br />8:00 p.m.; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, approximately 500 members of local youth groups will <br /> gather to sing Christmas carols; and <br /> <br />because of the number of participants, the Junior <br />Women's Club is requesting that Main Street between <br />St. Marys and Division Street be closed to traffic <br />during the ceremony to ensure the safety of partici- <br />pants and spectators. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Approves the closing of Main Street between St. Marys <br /> and Division Streets from 6:30 p.m. to approximately <br /> 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Section 2: Approves amending the budget for fiscal year 1981-82 <br /> to reflect the increased police overtime of 15 hours <br /> ($254.00). <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED NOVEMBER 24, 1981 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mo r, Wood and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None ~ <br />ABSENT: None ~,~ <br /> <br />By Doris George, Deputy City Clerk <br />APPR VED~TO FO~ <br />~.
