CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 81-407 RESOLUTION MAKING APPLICATION TO ALAMEDA COUNTY LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION REQUESTING INITIATION OF PROCEEDINGS FOR PROPOSED ANNEXATION NO. 96 PURSUANT TO THE MUNICIPAL ORGANIZATION ACT OF 1977 WtlEREAS, pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977, beginning with Section 35000 of the Government Code, an affected city, as therein defined, may by resolution adopted by its legislative body, make a proposal for an "Annexation and Detachments" and request initiation of proceedings thereon; and WtlEREAS, the City of Pleasanton is an "affected city" for an annexation proposal which contains territory proposed to be annexed as part of said City; and WtlEREAS , the owner of said property has consented to this annexation. NOW, TtlEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASA~TON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: This City Council, as the legislative body of an affected city, does hereby make a proposal for annexation of the area known as Annexation No. 96 pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977 and does hereby request proceedings pursuant to such act. Section 2: The annexation shall consist of the following change in organization: Approximately 250 acres east of Junipero Street shall be changed from unincorporated Alameda County lands to land within the City of Pleasanton. Said territory is found to be uninhabited and is more specifically described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein. Section 3: This City Council does hereby declare that its reasons for proposing this annexation are: The proposed annexation appears to be a logical expansion of the City boundaries and would allow appropriate City control of any future development of the property.
