5) Accrue~ vacation shall be credite~ to the employee's <br /> account upon his/her anniversary date each year. <br />6) An employee, except a probationary employee, may be <br /> allowed to incur a forty (40) hour deficit beyond the <br /> vacation leave credited to his/her account on his/her <br /> anniversary date. A probationary employee may incur <br /> a forty (40) hour deficit in vacation leave after <br /> six (6) months full time satisfactory service. <br /> <br />Vacation Accumulation <br /> <br />Effective January 1, 1978, an employee will be allowed <br />to have an accumulation of no more than two (2) years' <br />vacation accrual to his credit at any one time. <br /> <br />Vacation Schedule <br /> <br />The times during a calendar year at which an employee may <br />take his/her vacation shall be determined by the department <br />head with due regard for the wishes of the employee and <br />particular regard for the needs of the service. <br /> <br />If the requirements of the service are such ~hat an employee <br />cannot take part or all of his/her annual vacation in a <br />particular calendar year, such vacation shall be taken <br />during the following calendar year. <br /> <br />Vacation Pay at Termination <br /> <br />Any employee with (1) or more years of service with the <br />City shall be paid for all accrued vacation leave earned <br />prior to the effective date of termination. Such compen- <br />sation for earned vacation shall be paid to the employee <br />in one lump sum in a final check. <br /> <br />Section 10. Sick Leave <br /> <br />10.1 <br /> <br />Sick Leave Accrual <br /> <br />Dur~n~ his/her pne year probationary period each new <br />full time employee shall earn sick leave at the rate of <br />eight (8) hours for each month of service. Upon success- <br />fully completing his/her one year probationary period <br />each new employee shall receive three hundred eight-four <br />(384) hours sick leave credit in addition to that earned <br />during probation. Upon completion of five (5) years <br />service, every employee shall thereafter accumulate <br />sick leave at a rate of eight (8) hours per month. No <br />employee shall accumulate more than one thousand four <br />hundred forty (1,440) hours sick leave. An employee <br /> <br /> <br />
