CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 82-67 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT FOR 1 MGD EXPANSION <br />OF THE LAVWMA PIPELINE FACILITY TO W. Ro THOMASON, <br />INC. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />an expansion tolthe LAVW~ facilities to increase <br />the..fio~.of capacity by 1 MGD for industrial and <br />non-retail commercial use has been approved by a <br />vote of the residents of the member agencies in <br />LAVWMA; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />CH2M Hill, has completed the design of the expansion <br />and bids were received and were opened on February 16, <br />1982; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the bid of W. R. Thomason, Inc. in the sum of <br />$1,168,000 was determined to be the lowest responsible <br />bid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on August 12, 1980, the City entered an agreement <br />with CH2M Hill to provide eng~D.eering services for <br />the 1 MGD expansion, whlfch agreement called for <br />approval o'f'~e~ific task orders for the different <br />phases of the project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Council reviewed Task Order No. 3 which authorizes <br />supervision and inspection of the construction <br />work, the estimated amount of payment authorized <br />through this task order is $193,000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />from time to time during construction of a project <br />this size, it is necessary to make some changes to <br />the construction contract, therefore, it is suggested <br />that the City Manager be authorized to approve <br />change orders to the contract, not to exceed <br />$20,000, upon recommendation of CH2M Hill; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1: Awards the construction contract for the 1 MGD <br /> expansion of the LAVWMA pipeline to W. R. Thomason, <br /> Inc. <br /> <br />Section 2: Approves Task Order No. 3 for engineering services. <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />3: Authorizes the City Manager to approve change <br /> orders to the contract, not to exceed $20,000 per <br /> change order. <br /> <br /> <br />
