Section 8. Standby Time <br /> <br />Standby time is that amount of specific and predetermined <br />time that an employee is required to be on call in addition <br />to the normal work day and shall be compensated at a rate <br />of pay equal to twenty hours of pay for each seven (7) <br />day period spent on standby. The hours of daily standby <br />duty for water division employees shall be 4:00 P.M. to <br />7:30 A.M. The daily hours of standby duty for sewage <br />treatment/sanitary sewer employees shall be 3:30 P.M. to <br />7:00 A.M. The requirement that employees in the classi- <br />fication of water system operator and sewage treatment <br />plant operators work standby shall be set forth in the <br />job descriptions of such classifications. <br /> <br />Section 9. Holidays <br /> <br />9.1 <br /> <br />Observed Holidays <br /> <br />The holidays to be observed are as follows: <br /> <br />January 1st. <br />February 12, known as "Lincoln Day." <br />The third Monday in February, known as "Washington <br />Day." <br />The last Monday in May known as "Memorial Day." <br />July 4th. <br />The first Monday in September known as "Labor Day." <br />The eleventh day of the eleventh month, known as <br />"Veterans Day." <br />Thanksgiving Day. <br />The Friday following Thanksgiving Day. <br />December 25th. <br /> <br />9.2 <br /> <br />Elimination of Admission Day and Good Friday as Holidays <br /> <br />Effective March t, 1982, Admission Day and the two (2) <br />hours between 1:00 P.M. and 3:00 P.M. on Good Friday <br />shall be eliminated as holidays. In exchange for the <br />elimination of these two days as holidays the annual <br />vacation entitlement of eligible full time employees <br />as set forth in Section 10.2 shall be increased by twelve <br />(12) hours. The annual vacation entitlements of eligible <br />regular part-time employees shall be increased propor- <br />tionally. <br /> <br />9.3 <br /> <br />Floating Holidays <br /> <br />Two (2) floating holidays shall be credited to each <br />employee on July 1 of each year to be observed on a date <br />mutually agreed to by the individual employee and the <br />Department Head. Such floating holiday shall be scheduled <br />at least fifteen (15) days prior to the observance of <br /> <br />-16- <br /> <br /> <br />
