CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 82-125 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF AB 2313 REGARDING DIAMOND <br />LANES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Assemblyman Lockyer has proposed a bill to give <br />some local control over the designation of exclusive <br />high-occupancy vehicle lanes (diamond lanes) on <br />state highways traversing local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />this bill would require Metropolitan Transportation <br />Commission (MTC) approval before such lanes could <br />be designated within the nine-county Bay Area, <br />thereby giving more local control; and <br /> <br />WtlEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council feels this bill would be beneficial <br />to the citizens of Pleasanton and would like to <br />indicate its support; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1 The City Council supports AB 2313 (Lockyer) <br /> regarding designation of diamond lanes. <br /> <br />Section 2 <br /> <br /> That the staff is directed to forward copies of <br />this resolution to the Legislative delegates <br />representing Pleasanton and to the Chairman of the <br />committee currently considering this legislation. <br /> <br />Section 3 This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED APRIL 6, 1982 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood and <br /> Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> R, }~YOR <br />By Doril George~ ~e~uty City Clerk <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br />Brian W.
