CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 82-160 RESOLUTION REGARDING RENOVATION OF AMADOR AUDITORIUM WHEREAS , the citizens of Pleasanton are in need of a theater for regular community use to participate in or to attend various cultural activities; and WHEREAS, Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council has requested that the City of Pleasanton offer their support to expanded use of the Amador Auditorium under City administration; and WHEREAS, the Amador Joint School District has indicated its support of the expanded use of the Amador Auditorium under City administration; and WHEREAS, initial examination of the facility by city staff has determined the building to be sound, but requiring extensive renovation to assure it meets all applicable building codes and is acceptable to standards for public use; and ~{EREAS, a steering committee has been formed to pursue funding sources for renovating Amador Auditorium to bring it up to an acceptable standard for a community theater and to pursue the development of agreements required for future administration and management; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Directs staff to enter into negotiations with Amador Joint School District to develop a joint powers agreement for the administration of Amador Auditorium to be effective after renovation or after it has been determined that the facility meets all City requirements. Section 2: Directs staff to enter into negotiations with Amador Joint School District and Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council to develop an agreement for management of the Amador Auditorium. Section 3: Indicates its support of community effort directed toward renovating Amador Auditorium and of broader community use of Amador Auditorium.
