CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 82-160 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REGARDING RENOVATION OF AMADOR AUDITORIUM <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />the citizens of Pleasanton are in need of a theater <br />for regular community use to participate in or to <br />attend various cultural activities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council has requested <br />that the City of Pleasanton offer their support to <br />expanded use of the Amador Auditorium under City <br />administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Amador Joint School District has indicated its <br />support of the expanded use of the Amador Auditorium <br />under City administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />initial examination of the facility by city staff <br />has determined the building to be sound, but <br />requiring extensive renovation to assure it meets <br />all applicable building codes and is acceptable to <br />standards for public use; and <br /> <br />~{EREAS, <br /> <br />a steering committee has been formed to pursue <br />funding sources for renovating Amador Auditorium <br />to bring it up to an acceptable standard for a <br />community theater and to pursue the development of <br />agreements required for future administration and <br />management; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1: Directs staff to enter into negotiations with <br /> Amador Joint School District to develop a joint <br /> powers agreement for the administration of Amador <br /> Auditorium to be effective after renovation or <br /> after it has been determined that the facility <br /> meets all City requirements. <br /> <br />Section 2: Directs staff to enter into negotiations with <br /> Amador Joint School District and Pleasanton Cultural <br /> Arts Council to develop an agreement for management <br /> of the Amador Auditorium. <br /> <br />Section 3: <br /> <br /> Indicates its support of community effort directed <br />toward renovating Amador Auditorium and of broader <br />community use of Amador Auditorium. <br /> <br /> <br />
