CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 82-179 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT TAPES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Government Code §26202.6 permits the destruction <br />of certain 24-hour radio and telephone tapes over <br />100 days old with the approval of the City Council <br />and the written consent of the City Attorney; and <br /> <br />~tEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council has received a report indicating <br />the necessity of reusing the tapes and indicating <br />they can legally be destroyed after 100 days; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br /> The City Council approves the destruction of <br />those 24-hour radio and telephone tapes which are <br />over 100 days old. <br /> <br />Section 2: <br /> <br /> The City Council directs the City Attorney to <br />review and give his written consent to the destruction <br />of the 24-hour radio and telephone tapes over 100 <br />days old prior to their destruction. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED MAY 25, 1982 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood and <br /> Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />By Doris George, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br /> <br />
