CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> RESOLUTION NO . 82-359 <br /> APPROVAL OF BUDGET AMENDMENT TO PURCHASE BACKHOE <br /> FOR THE WATER DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS , the Water Department ' s 15-year old John Deere <br /> backhoe-loader has broken down and is in need of <br /> extensive repairs which may cost as much as $24, 000 ; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, because of the age and cost of repair of the <br /> backhoe , it was deemed appropriate to seek bids on <br /> the purchase of a new backhoe and three bids were <br /> obtained by the Utilities Superintendent ; and <br /> WHEREAS , the bid of J . I . Case in the amount of $25 ,004 . 61 <br /> was determined to be the lowest responsible bid, <br /> said bid includes provision for a lease purchase <br /> arrangement at an APR of 9%; and <br /> WHEREAS , at its meeting of September 14 , 1982 , Council <br /> reviewed the report of the Director of Public <br /> Works and Utilities regarding the proposed purchase ; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS : <br /> Section 1 : Authorizes the City Manager to enter into a 60 <br /> month lease purchase agreement for the Case Backhoe- <br /> Loader at 9 percent per annum. <br /> Section 2 : Approves the amendment to the budget of the <br /> Water Department to cover the lease payments for <br /> this fiscal year. <br /> Section 3 : This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 14 , 1982 BY THE FOLLOWING <br /> VOTE : <br /> AYES : Councilmembers - Brandes , Mercer , Mohr , Wood and <br /> Mayor Butler <br /> NOES : None <br /> ABSENT : None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> ROBERT E .
