CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 82-349 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE GIFT OF THE PLEASANTON <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS FACILITY FROM PLEASANTON COUNCIL <br />CHAMBERS, INC. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Pleasanton Council Chambers, Inc., in 1981 perceived <br />the need for a first class council chamber facility <br />to serve the City of Pleasanton and, with City of <br />Pleasanton's permission to use City property, under- <br />took to raise funds and construct a council chambers <br />facility as part of the City Hall complex; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Pleasanton Council Chambers, Inc., with the support <br />of the individuals and businesses of the community, <br />has completed the construction and furnishing of <br />the council chambers facility; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the council chambers facility is a splendid addition <br />to the City Hall complex and has already proven to <br />be both comfortable and functional in its use for <br />City and other community activities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Pleasanton Council Chambers, Inc., has now offered <br />to give the council chambers facility to the City <br />of Pleasanton together with the excess funds raised <br />for the building's construction; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton finds that it is in the <br />best interests of the public to accept the fine <br />facility offered to it; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1: The City of Pleasanton hereby accepts the gift of <br /> the council chambers facility from Pleasanton Council <br /> Chambers, Inc. <br /> <br />Section 2: The City of Pleasanton further accepts the gift <br /> of $520.14 from Pleasanton Council Chambers, Inc. <br /> <br />Section 3: The City of Pleasanton further expresses its <br /> gratitude to Pleasanton Council Chambers, Inc. for <br /> this gift and specifically its directors, William H. <br /> Gale, Jr., DeWitt Wilson, and Ted C. Fairfield, and <br /> commends them for a job very well done. <br /> <br /> <br />
