CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION NO. 82-408

RESOLUTION REDUCING THE LOWER INCOME HOUSING
SET-ASIDE BY 50 UNITS

WHEREAS,

pursuant to the City's Residential Allocation
Program and Growth Management Program, an allocation
of 149 dwelling units has been set aside for
construction of lower income housing projects; and

~EREAS,

the lower income housing set-aside has continuously
allocated units for lower income housing projects
since 1978 and there has been very little use of
the set-aside; and

WHEREAS,

the existence of a large, lower income housing
set-aside allocated but unlikely to be used in
development of such housing makes meeting the City's
1986 General Plan population benchmark unlikely,
because past allocations assumed such housing
would be developed; and

WHEREAS ,

reducing the lower income housing set-aside by 50
units would make those units available for development
in conformance with the City's General Plan population
benchmark goal and will not hinder the development
of appropriate lower income housing projects;

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

Section

1: The accumulated total of 149 units in the lower
income housing set-aside shall be reduced by 50
units, leaving 99 units available for an appropriate
lower income housing project.

Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption.

THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED OCTOBER 12, 1982 BY THE FOLLOWING
VOTE:

AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Wood and Mayor Butler
NOES: Councilmember Mohr
ABSENT: None R~~TLE~
By Doris George, Deputy City Clerk
