CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 82-433 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FUEL EFFICIENT TP~FFIC <br />SIGNAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM GPj~NT APPLICATION <br /> <br />~ERLAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton recognizes that it is in <br />the interest of the national economy to promote <br />the conservation of energy resources and to reduce <br />our nation's dependence on costly foreign oil; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />fuel efficient traffic signal management by the City <br />of Pleasanton will provide benefits to the local <br />community in the form of improved traffic flow, <br />reduced fuel consumption, reduced vehicle operating <br />costs, reduced air pollutant emissions, and improved <br />safety due to smoother flow; and <br /> <br />W}IEREAS, <br /> <br />funds have been established and are available <br />through the California Energy Commission for grants <br />to local governments for efficient traffic signal <br />management projects; <br /> <br />NOW, THERLFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVLS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1: The City Council authorizes the submittal of an <br /> application to the California Energy CoFmission <br /> for a grant and the Director of Public Works and <br /> Utilities of the City of Pleasanton is hereby authorized <br /> and empowered to execute in the name of the City of <br /> Pleasanton, all necessary applications, contracts, <br /> and agreements to implement and carry out the purposes <br /> specified in this resolution. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />TKIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED NOVEMBER 9, 1982 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood and <br /> Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> ByDoris George, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br /> R · <br /> <br /> eter . ac ona , ity ttorney <br /> <br /> <br />
