In Pleasanton, renter households in 1980 earned only about 61% <br />of what home owner households earned as shown in Figure 2 - a <br />difference of about $12,500 per year. It should be noted that <br />42% of renter households earned under $15,000 per year in 1979, <br />whereas only 7% of home owner households earned incomes at or <br />below that figure. <br /> <br />As shown in Figure 3 - Pleasanton household incomes have been <br />steadily increasing since 1969. The County median household <br />income is approximately $20,700. The Pleasanton median income <br />at $27,086 is about 31% above that figure. In 1969 the differ- <br />ence was approximately the same - Alameda County at $11,133 and <br />Pleasanton at $14,466.
