As exemplified in Table 2, Pleasanton is a relatively homogeneous <br />community unrepresentative of the ethnic diversity of the Bay Area. <br />One of the reasons for this fact may simply be related to income. <br />Minority households tend to have lower incomes than white households. <br />As will be noted in subsequent tables in this report, housing costs <br />in Pleasanton are high. Housing prices may serve to preclude the <br />ethnic groups who seek to locate in Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Although minority household representation is low in Pleasanton, <br />it is still a fairly well integrated community. There are no <br />substantial geographic concentrations of specific ethnic groups - <br />minority households are well dispersed throughout the residential <br />areas of the City. <br /> <br />-49- <br /> <br /> <br />
