CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALA~ZEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 82-451 <br /> <br />RESOLLTION ESTABLISHING PROCEDURE FOR DISPOSITION <br />OF CITY RECORDS <br /> <br />~iEREAS, <br /> <br />there is a need to establish an efficient procedure <br />for disposition of City records which are no longer <br />needed; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Government Code §34090 provides statutory guidelines; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1: City records, documents, instruments, books or <br /> papers may be destroyed without making a copy thereof <br /> if: <br /> <br />The head of the City department charged with <br />keeping that particular record, document, <br />instrument or paper prepares a description of <br />records to be destroyed and certifies that said <br />records are no longer required; and <br /> <br />The City Attorney gives his or her written <br />consent to destruction of the described <br />documents. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution does not authorize the destruction <br /> of: <br /> <br />1. Records less than two years old. <br /> <br />2. Records affecting the title to real property <br /> or liens thereon. <br /> <br />3. Court records. <br /> <br />4. Records required to be retained by statute. <br /> <br />The minutes, ordinances, or resolutions of the <br />legislative body or of a city board or commission. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED OCTOBER 26, 1982 BY TEE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> <br />
