The procedures for determining the Balancing Rate and for <br /> maintaining the Energy Cost Adju~ment Account are set forth in Sec- <br /> tions 9 and 10 below. <br /> <br />(c) The rates determined above shall he further adjusted to reflect the pro- <br /> visions of Section 739 of the Public Utilities Code, relating to lifeline <br /> rates, as implemented by the Commission. <br /> <br />Offset Rata <br />The Offset Pate shall be determined as (1) the mount of the Current Cost of <br />Fuel and Purchased Ener~- determined as spedfled in Section S below, less <br />(2) the toLal Record Period revenues from the California Department of <br />~'ater Pasoureas under present eonlraets. all divided by (8) the Record <br />Period kilowatt hours of total sales? and then less (i) the t~ase Weighted <br />Pate for Fuel and Purchased Energy. <br /> <br />Cue-ant Cost of Fuel and Purchased Energy <br />(a) The current cost of fuel and purchased energy. shall be equal <br /> (1) The volumes of gas end of each type of oil and coal fuel used for <br /> electric generation in the Eeeord Period,** expressed in millions <br /> of Btu and the volume of geethermal and nuclear production in the <br /> Record Period, expressed in kilowatt hours, multiplied by the cur- <br /> rent price of each as set forth below, plus <br /> {2) The total cost of purchased electric energy. as recorded in the Rec- <br /> ord Period in CPUC Account No. 555, Purchased Power*°°, inelnd- <br /> ing payments for auxilia~' power sm~rees (APS), excluding opera- <br /> tion and maintenance payments, plu~ <br /> (3) The annualized Eureka Energy fuel service charge in effect on or <br /> before the filing date for projects approved by the Commission. <br /> <br />(b) Current prices shall be determined as follows: <br /> (1) The current price of gas fuel shall be the average of each applicable <br /> gas rate schedule, expressed in cents per million Btu, in effect on <br /> or before the Revision Date, weighted by the quanti~y of gas used <br /> under each such gas rate schedule during the Record Period. <br /> (2) The current prices of oil and coal fuel shah be the current average <br /> cost in dollars per million Btu of each type in inventory (CPUC Ae- <br /> count No. 151, Fuel Stock) on the filing date. <br /> (3) The current prices of geothermal stean shall be the prices per kilo- <br /> wan hour of geotheHT~a] planl ontpu~ (including payments for el- <br /> fincut disposal) of steam producers effective for production on or <br /> before the filing date. <br /> (4) The current prices of nuclear fuel shall be the unit rates of amor- <br /> tization, expressed in cents per kilowatt hour, of nuclear fuel <br /> serebites, including an allowance for salvage value, determined in <br /> accordance with CPUC Account No. 518.
