CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 82~462 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING THE PLEASANTON JAYCEES AND <br />OTHER GROUPS TO CONTINUE THEIR ACTIVITIES BENEFIT° <br />ING PLEASANTON SCHOOLS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Pleasanton JayCees have started a program <br />called "Adopt A School" by which they plan to have <br />every school in Pleasanton adopted by a local <br />civic-minded organization which will then provide <br />assistance to the schools through fund raising <br />activities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />due to budget cuts since Proposition 13, the <br />schools can readily use this financial assistance <br />and the City Council of Pleasanton commends the <br />JayCees on their project and wishes to encourage <br />other civic groups to participate; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council of Pleasanton commends the <br /> Pleasanton JayCees on their "Adopt A School" and <br /> encourages them and other civic groups to continue <br /> their activities benefiting Pleasanton schools. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED NOVEMBER 23, 1982 BY THE FOLLOWING <br />VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood and <br /> Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br />~eter D. ac ona , ~ty Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />
