CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-478 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING SOUND SCREENING FOR INTER- <br />STATE NUCLEAR SERVICES ON RAY STREET <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />in June of this year, the City received a petition <br />signed by the neighbors of Interstate Nuclear Services <br />complaining about the noise emanating from the <br />facility; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />staff recommends a mitigation measure consisting of <br />a twelve foot stack on the lint filter with an eight <br />foot wire mesh fence on the neiEhborhood side of the <br />plant; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />a petition signed bv thirty neighbors has been <br />presented to Council in suDport of the staff <br />recommendation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Interstate Nuclear Services has submitted a letter <br />agreeing to the recommendation of staff; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1: Council finds that the recommendation of staff for a <br /> twelve foot stack with three inches of sound insulatin~ <br /> materials and an eight foot wire mesh fence on the <br /> neighborhood side of the plant is appropriate in this <br /> instance to mitigate the noise Droblem of Interstate <br /> Nuclear Services. <br /> <br />Section 2: This matter is referred to the Design Review Board <br /> for further action consistent with this finding. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED OCTOBER 25, 1983 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None ~~~ <br />TTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />
