CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 83-477 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OPPOSING PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE LOCAL <br />AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION SPHERE OF INFLUENCE <br />POLICIES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Council is in receipt of a letter from Mayor Leon <br />J. Mezzetti of Fremont directed to the Board of <br />Directors of the Local Agency Formation Cormnission <br />(LAFCO) opposing proposed changes to the LAFCO <br />Sphere of Influence Dolicies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />after review and discussion of the contents of <br />Mayor Mezzetti's letter, Council finds that it is <br />in agreement and that the City of Pleasanton <br />should go on record in opposition to the proposed <br />changes to the LAFCO SDhere of Influence Dolicies; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1: The City Council of the City of Pleasanton <br /> opposes the proposed changes to the Local A~ency <br /> Formation Commission Sphere of Influence policies <br /> and favors retention of the Dresent emDhasis on <br /> development within existing cities. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED OCTOBER 25, 1983 BY THE FOLLOWING <br />VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood and <br /> Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />By Doris George, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
