CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALamEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 83-464 REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO BANKE CONSTRUCTION OF CASTRO VALLEY FOR THE CITY HALL EXPANSION, PROJECT NO. 83-13 WHEREAS, the City prepared plans and specifications for the expansion of City Hall, Project No. 83-13; and I,~EREAS, pursuant to Government Code §37900, et seq., the City Engineering Services Division advertised for bids regarding this project; and WHEREAS, bids were reviewed by the City Council on October 25, 1983; and WHEREAS, the bid of Red Feather Construction was determined to be the lowest resDonsible bid, however, Red Feather later withdrew its bid indicating it had made an error in its bid calculations; and WHEREAS, the second low bidder is Banke Construction of Castro Valley, whose bid, in the amount of $341,064 was determined to be the lowest responsible bid; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Utilities recommended that the bid of Banke Construction of Castro Valley be accepted; and NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Council hereby authorizes the withdrawal of the bid of Red Feather Construction. Section 2: The bid of Banke Construction of Castro Valley, including Alternates Nos. 2 and 3 for a total of $348,814.00 for the City Hall expansion and parkinK lot, Project No. 83-13, is hereby accepted by the City Council as the lowest responsible bid. Section 3: The City is authorized to enter into a contract with Banke Construction for the improvements specified above. Section 4: Council authorizes an additional appropriation of $110,581,00 to cover the construction costs and provide a contingency fund of five percent (5%) of the total bid.
