CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALamEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 83-464 <br /> <br />REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO BANKE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF CASTRO VALLEY FOR THE CITY <br />HALL EXPANSION, PROJECT NO. 83-13 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City prepared plans and specifications for the <br />expansion of City Hall, Project No. 83-13; and <br /> <br />I,~EREAS, <br /> <br />pursuant to Government Code §37900, et seq., the <br />City Engineering Services Division advertised for <br />bids regarding this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, bids were reviewed by the City Council on October 25, <br /> 1983; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the bid of Red Feather Construction was determined <br />to be the lowest resDonsible bid, however, Red <br />Feather later withdrew its bid indicating it had <br />made an error in its bid calculations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the second low bidder is Banke Construction of <br />Castro Valley, whose bid, in the amount of $341,064 <br />was determined to be the lowest responsible bid; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Director of Public Works and Utilities recommended <br />that the bid of Banke Construction of Castro Valley <br />be accepted; and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Council hereby authorizes the withdrawal of the <br /> bid of Red Feather Construction. <br /> <br />Section 2: The bid of Banke Construction of Castro Valley, <br /> including Alternates Nos. 2 and 3 for a total of <br /> $348,814.00 for the City Hall expansion and parkinK <br /> lot, Project No. 83-13, is hereby accepted by the <br /> City Council as the lowest responsible bid. <br /> <br />Section 3: The City is authorized to enter into a contract <br /> with Banke Construction for the improvements <br /> specified above. <br /> <br />Section 4: Council authorizes an additional appropriation <br /> of $110,581,00 to cover the construction costs and <br /> provide a contingency fund of five percent (5%) of <br /> the total bid. <br /> <br /> <br />
