CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 83-396 RESOLUTION APPROVING PURCHASE OF DIGITIZE SYSTEM FOR POLICE AND FIRE ALARM MONITORING AND SELECTING ASSOCIATED ELECTRONICS COMPANY FOR ALL CONNECTIONS, DISCONNECTIONS AND WARRANTY REPAIR WORK ON THE EQUIPMENT W'HEREAS, in connection with the move of the Police Department to a new facility and the planned growth of commercial and industrial areas of the city, it is necessary at this time to modernize the alarm system presently in use for police and fire alarm monitoring; and WHEREAS , the Chief of Police in his report dated September 8, 1983 (SR 83:401) analyzed in detail two proposals received for a new alarm monitoring system; and WHEREAS , it is the recommendation of the Chief of Police that because of the ease of the display readout and the ability to reDrogram by City operators that the Digitize system is the most desirable police and fire alarm monitoring system; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The City Council approves the selection of the Digitize police and fire alarm monitoring system. Section 2: Associated Electronics Company is selected as the supplier of the Digitize equipment and shall be authorized as the alarm company responsible for all connections, disconnections, and warranty repair work on the equipment. Section 3: Staff is authorized to negotiate a contract with Associated Electronics Company for the above equipment and service responsibilities, and the appropriate City official is authorized to execute such a contract. Section 4: The 1983-84 Operating Budget is hereby amended by appropriating $29,710.00 for the above alarm monitoring system. Section 5: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
