CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-396 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PURCHASE OF DIGITIZE SYSTEM <br />FOR POLICE AND FIRE ALARM MONITORING AND SELECTING <br />ASSOCIATED ELECTRONICS COMPANY FOR ALL CONNECTIONS, <br />DISCONNECTIONS AND WARRANTY REPAIR WORK ON THE <br />EQUIPMENT <br /> <br />W'HEREAS, <br /> <br />in connection with the move of the Police Department <br />to a new facility and the planned growth of commercial <br />and industrial areas of the city, it is necessary <br />at this time to modernize the alarm system presently <br />in use for police and fire alarm monitoring; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />the Chief of Police in his report dated September 8, <br />1983 (SR 83:401) analyzed in detail two proposals <br />received for a new alarm monitoring system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />it is the recommendation of the Chief of Police <br />that because of the ease of the display readout <br />and the ability to reDrogram by City operators <br />that the Digitize system is the most desirable <br />police and fire alarm monitoring system; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council approves the selection of the <br /> Digitize police and fire alarm monitoring system. <br /> <br />Section 2: <br /> <br /> Associated Electronics Company is selected as <br />the supplier of the Digitize equipment and shall <br />be authorized as the alarm company responsible for <br />all connections, disconnections, and warranty <br />repair work on the equipment. <br /> <br />Section 3: Staff is authorized to negotiate a contract with <br /> Associated Electronics Company for the above <br /> equipment and service responsibilities, and the <br /> appropriate City official is authorized to execute <br /> such a contract. <br /> <br />Section 4: The 1983-84 Operating Budget is hereby <br /> amended by appropriating $29,710.00 for the above <br /> alarm monitoring system. <br /> <br />Section 5: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
