CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-372 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REJECTING BIDS FOR POND RESTORATION <br />AND AUTHORIZING CALLING FOR NEW BIDS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on August 9, 1983, the City Council approved plans <br />and specifications for the restoration of property <br />formerly leased from the San Francisco Water <br />Department and authorized the calling of bids; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />unanticipated plan changes required by the City <br />and County of San Francisco increased the scope <br />and cost of the project and required plan revisions; <br />and <br /> <br />~,~EREAS, <br /> <br />the revised plans were not available to the bidders <br />for a long enough period of time to obtain realistic <br />bids prior to the September 7th bid opening; and <br /> <br />WHEP~AS, staff recommends rejection of the two bids received <br /> and readvertisement of the project; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br /> The City Council hereby rejects the two bids <br />received from Oliver de Silva and Bay Cities <br />Paving and Grading for the pond restoration, <br />C.I.P. 82-14. <br /> <br />Section 2: Authorizes staff to readvertise the project in <br /> order that more realistic bids are received. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall be effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 13, 1983 BY THE FOLLOWING <br />VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, and <br /> Mayor Butler <br /> None <br /> Councilmember Wood <br /> None <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />PeddlerS.
