CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />AL~4EDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-367 <br /> <br />REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO VALLEY <br />TIMES FOR PUBLICATION OF LEGAL NOTICES FOR <br />FISCAL YEAR 1983-84 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Section 20169 of the California Public Contract's <br />Code requires each city with more than one newspaper <br />of general circulation to bid annually the city's <br />contract to publish its legal notices; and <br /> <br />~tEREAS, <br /> <br />specifications were prepared by the Assistant to <br />the City Manager and bids were submitted by the <br />city's two newspapers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> <br />bids were reviewed by the City Council on August 23, <br />1983; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> <br />the bid of the Valley Times was determined to be the <br />lowest responsible bid and the Assistant to the City <br />Manager recommended that the bid of the Valley Times <br />be accepted; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The bid of the "Valley Times" for publication of <br /> the city's legal notices for fiscal year 1983-84 is <br /> hereby accepted by the City Council as the lowest <br /> responsible bid. <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />2: The City is authorized to enter into a contract <br /> with the "Valley Times" for publication of legal <br /> notices. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED AUGUST 23, 1983 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Mercer, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: Councilmember Brandes <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None ~F~.B~UU~R <br />ATTEST: ROB <br /> <br /> <br />
