CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-318 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS IN THE <br />KOTTINGER AVENUE AREA <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />~n -lanuary, 1983, two intense storms in the area <br />created a situation where the Kottinger Creek and <br />runoff on Kottinger Drive overflowed the curb and <br />inundated the Pleasanton Gardens ADartments; and <br /> <br />WItEREAS, <br /> <br />in February, 1983, Council authorized the selection <br />of a qualified engineering firm to Derform a <br />drainage study for the Kottinger DrivetPleasanton <br />Gardens area; and <br /> <br />~HEREAS, <br /> <br />the final report of Kennedy/Jenks Engineers was <br />submitted on June 27, 1983; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />in his report dated July 20, 1983 (SR 83:282), the <br />Director of Public Works and Utilities presented <br />his recommendations for improvements to the area; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br /> Staff is directed <br />documents necessary <br />items: <br /> <br />to initiate the construction <br />to construct the following <br /> <br />The storm inlet and pipe on Kottinger Drive <br />as per the study recommendation No. 1 ($22,000). <br /> <br />Modify the headwall for the creek at Kottinger <br />Drive to provide the necessary protection to <br />contain the high flows within the channel <br />($3,000). <br /> <br />UD tO three check dams to be located within <br />K~ttinger Park; the final number to be determined <br />along with the final design ($16,000-$48,000). <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />2: The Public Works crews are directed to contact <br /> the various neighbors surrounding Pleasanton <br /> Gardens to receive permission to modify their <br /> common fences. After permission is received, the <br /> crews shall modify said fences such that water <br /> will not pond within the Pleasanton Gardens ComDlex. <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />3: As soon as possible, construction plans shall be <br /> returned to the City Council for review and approval <br /> and progress reports shall be provided on the <br /> fence work. <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
