CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-288 <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF 1983-84 INSURANCE PROGRAM FOR THE <br />CITY OF PLEAS~]TON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton has been a self-insured munici- <br />pality since 1978 having a self-insured liability <br />retention of $50,000 and a worker's compensation <br />self-insured retention of $100,000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Director of Finance presented a report to the <br />City Council on July 26, 1983 (SR 83:301), outlining <br />a program of insurance coverage in excess of the <br />self-insured retentions; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Approves the purchase of the following insurance <br /> policies: <br /> <br />(a) Lexington Insurance Co,, $9,000,000 <br /> Umbrella Liability <br /> <br />$ 6,750.00 <br /> <br />(b) St. Paul Surplus - Property Ins. <br /> <br />15,265.34 <br /> <br />(c) Mutual Fire Marine and Inland <br /> Ins. Co., Equipment Floater <br /> <br />6,428.33 <br /> <br />(d) Continental Ins. Co. ComDrehensive <br /> Crime <br /> <br />2,652.00 <br /> <br />(e) Continental Ins. Co. Boiler & <br /> Machinery <br /> <br />1,249.00 <br /> <br />(f) General Reinsurance Corp. - Excess <br /> Worker's ComD. <br /> <br />6,375.00 <br /> <br />Section 2: <br /> <br /> Authorizes the City Manager to sign the formal release <br />to Canadian Indemnity for the two remaining (successive) <br />years on the $1,000,000 ~nicipal Liability Insurance <br />in excess of the $50,000 self-insured retention; and <br />transfer the Dolicy to Twin Cities Fire Insurance <br />Company, a division of Hartord Group. <br /> <br />Section 3: <br /> <br /> Authorizes the staff to renew the following contracts <br />for claims administration for the City's self-insurance <br />program: <br /> <br />(a) E.S.I.8., Claims Administrator for Worker's <br /> Compensation <br /> <br /> <br />
