CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 83-264 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PROPOSED PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF INTERIM WATER SYSTEM CONTROLS AND AUTHORIZING APPROPRIATION OF $10,000 FOR WATER CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FOR SUCH WORK WHEREAS, the control system for the City's Water system is in very poor condition and in need of immediate interim repairs prior to an expected comnlete renewal of the control system in the future; and WHEREAS, the urgent need for this interim work warrants emergency expenditures to avoid the time consuming process of preparing Dlans and specifications and formal bidding; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Utilities, by his report dated June 23, 1983, has advised the City Council to approve the installation of the interim controls; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Authorizes the Durchase and installation of remote telemetry unit/pu~p controls as an emergency expenditure at the following locations: Kottinger Reservoir/Wells 5 and 6 near Alisal School; Santos Ranch Reservoir (510)/Well 7 at Valley Avenue and Hopyard Road. Section 2: Authorizes completion of this work as an emergency expenditure pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 20168. The City Council declares that the public interest and necessity demands immediate expenditure of these public monies to safeguard life, health, or property, sDecifically to Provide a safe and adequate water supply for the City of Pleasanton. Section 3: Authorizes the aDDroDriation of $10,000 for a Water Capital Improvement Project for this work. Section 4: Authorizes the issuance of purchase orders for the necessary materials and/or services as may be recommended by the Director of Public Works to complete this project.
