CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 83-260 RESOLUTION APPROVING BERNAL AVENUE NAME CHANGE IN CIVIC CENTER AREA CHANGING PICO AVENUE TO BERNAL AVENUE WHEREAS, due to the Bernal Avenue extension and the construction of the City's new police building, it is necessary to assign new street names in the Civic Center area; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recommended that Bernal Avenue be extended across Main Street and substituted for Pico Avenue and continue northerly to Stanley Boulevard; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The Bernal Avenue extension from its beginning west of the Western Pacific railroad tracks to First Street shall be named Bernal Avenue. Section 2: The name of Bernal Avenue between the Western Pacific railroad tracks and Harrison Avenue shall be changed to Bernal Court. Section 3: The new street from the Bernal Avenue realignment over to approximately Harrison Avenue and existing Bernal Avenue from approximately Harrison Street up to Main Street shall be named Old Bernal Avenue. Section 4: The name of Pico Avenue from First Street to the eastern terminus of the currently improved portion of the street shall be changed to Bernal Avenue. Section 5: The proposed street from the existing eastern terminus of Pico Avenue to Kottinger Drive shall be known as Bernal Avenue. Section 6: Pico Avenue from Kottinger Drive to the intersection with Vineyard/Tawny shall be changed to Bernal Avenue. Section 7: The proposed extension of Pico Avenue from Vineyard Avenue, across the Arroyo Del Valle, to Stanley Boulevard shall be known as Bernal Avenue.
