CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 83-253 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION WELCOMING THE COMMUNITY OF SAN RAMON TO CITYHOOD <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the community of San Ramon has become the 17th city in the County of <br /> Contra Costa; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Pleasanton and San Ramon proudly shape a topographical commonallty <br /> in the tri-valley region noted for its scenic beauty and unique <br /> heritage; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, our two cities possess and will continue to foster our areas' cul- <br /> tural traditions, outstanding recreational opportunities and <br /> facilities and open space areas. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Pleasanton enthusiastically and <br /> <br />warmly welcomes the community of San Ramon to Cityhood and extends <br /> <br />the hand of good will to our newest neighboring city. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED JUNE 28, 1983, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAINED: <br /> <br />Councilmembers Brandes, Mob_r, Wood, and Vice Mayor Mercer <br />None <br /> <br /> R, VICE MAYOR <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />By Doris George, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br /> <br />
