CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-219 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING IN CONCEPT THE ADDITIONAL <br />APPROACH LANE AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE <br />INTERSECTION OF FOOTHILL ROAD AND DUBLIN CANYON <br />ROAD RELATIVE TO DUBLIN CANYON ROAD IMPROVEMENTS, <br />ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 1982-1 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />recent examination of the traffic at the intersection <br />of Dublin Canyon Road and Foothill Road indicate <br />it will be very heavily traveled and without <br />mitigations may exceed the normally acceptable <br />service level D; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the addition of an additional approach lane at the <br />southwest corner of the intersection of Foothill <br />Road and Dublin Canyon Road will alleviate the <br />congestion; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />a review of the Assessment District funds indicates <br />that there is an adequate contingency to cover the <br />additional costs of right-of-way construction and <br />engineering for the proposed additional approach <br />lane; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1: Approves in concept the inclusion, by change <br /> order, in the construction contract for Assessment <br /> District 1982-1 the construction of an additional <br /> approach lane at the southwest corner of the <br /> intersection of Foothill Road and Dublin Canyon <br /> Road. <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />2: Directs the staff to take the necessary action <br /> to obtain an appraisal of the additional right-of- <br /> way and to negotiate for its acquisition. <br /> <br />Section 3: Directs the Engineer of Work to prepare the <br /> necessary drawings and specifications for the <br /> proposed contract change order. <br /> <br />Section 4: Directs the staff to negotiate a Drice for the <br /> additional construction work. <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />5: Directs the staff to strongly encourage use of <br /> TSM procedures by all businesses in the area and <br /> to investigate and report back to Council on the <br /> desirability of enacting a trip reduction ordinance. <br /> <br /> <br />
