CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 83-219 RESOLUTION APPROVING IN CONCEPT THE ADDITIONAL APPROACH LANE AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF FOOTHILL ROAD AND DUBLIN CANYON ROAD RELATIVE TO DUBLIN CANYON ROAD IMPROVEMENTS, ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 1982-1 WHEREAS, recent examination of the traffic at the intersection of Dublin Canyon Road and Foothill Road indicate it will be very heavily traveled and without mitigations may exceed the normally acceptable service level D; and WHEREAS, the addition of an additional approach lane at the southwest corner of the intersection of Foothill Road and Dublin Canyon Road will alleviate the congestion; and WHEREAS, a review of the Assessment District funds indicates that there is an adequate contingency to cover the additional costs of right-of-way construction and engineering for the proposed additional approach lane; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Approves in concept the inclusion, by change order, in the construction contract for Assessment District 1982-1 the construction of an additional approach lane at the southwest corner of the intersection of Foothill Road and Dublin Canyon Road. Section 2: Directs the staff to take the necessary action to obtain an appraisal of the additional right-of- way and to negotiate for its acquisition. Section 3: Directs the Engineer of Work to prepare the necessary drawings and specifications for the proposed contract change order. Section 4: Directs the staff to negotiate a Drice for the additional construction work. Section 5: Directs the staff to strongly encourage use of TSM procedures by all businesses in the area and to investigate and report back to Council on the desirability of enacting a trip reduction ordinance.
