EAST AMADOR VALLEY TRUNK SEWER CAPACITY STUDY

INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE

A. History of the East Amador Valley Trunk Sewer

The East Amador VaIley Trunk Sewer serves Assessment District 1967-1,
which is bounded by Interstate 580 on the North, the Alamo Canal on the
West, the Arroyo Mocho on the South, and extends approximately i2,000 feet
east of the Santa Rita - Interstate 580 intersection (see Figure 1).

The Assessment District was initiated by the City of Pleasanton and several
land owners in the area, resulting in the Valley Community Services District
(now Dublin-San Ramon Service District) authorizing the firm of William J.
Black and Associates to conduct a study to determine the major elements of
a sanitary sewer system needed to serve the area; the study was completed
in 1967. Construction on the trunk line began in 1967 and was completed
in 1968.

B. Purpose of this Capacity Study

The following evaluation of the trunk line was conducted to: 1) determine
the original flow entitlement of the study area; 2) compare the capacity of
the trunk line to the original entitlement flows; 3) compare the capacity
of the trunk line to Hacienda Business Park (HBP) projected flow plus
original entitlement flows for all other areas; 4) compare the capacity
of the trunk line to the current or projected flow requirement with
full buildout of the study area; and 5) determine what additional improve-
merits are needed to provide adequate sewage capacity for the study area.

C. Study Area

The study area for our evaIuation includes Assessment District 1967-i
and the anticipated additional tributary area south of Arroyo Mocho and east

-1-
