CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-192 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OPPOSING SB 778, SB 637, AB 1597 AND <br />SUPPORTING SB 575 <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />in response to Council's request for various <br />pending bills, the City Attorney presented a <br />legislative update report dated May 3, 1983 <br />including analysis and copies of various bills <br />before the State Legislature; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />after review of the City Attorney's report and <br />discussion concerning the legislation, Council <br />determined to take the positions listed below; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1: The City Council of the City of Pleasanton <br /> hereby takes the following positions on the bills <br /> listed: <br /> <br />a. SB 778 <br /> <br />b. SB 637 <br /> <br />co AB 1597 <br /> <br /> Compulsory and binding Oppose <br /> arbitration; legalization <br /> of employee strikes <br /> Subjects cities to juris- Oppose <br /> diction of the Public <br /> Employees Relations Board <br /> Allowing State Housing and OD~ose <br /> and Community Development <br /> to mandate fair share allo- <br /> cations on cities <br />d. SB 575 Limits joint and several Support <br /> liability. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED MAY 10, 1983 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br />AYES Councilmembers - Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood and <br /> Mayor Butler <br />NOES None <br /> <br /> <br />
