CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-188 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 76-79 (ESTAB- <br />LISHING TRAFFIC REGULATIONS FOR CITY STREETS) BY <br />AMENDING SECTION 3 (STOP INTERSECTIONS) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on April 12, 1976, the City Council adopted Resolution <br />No. 76-79 (A Resolution Establishing Traffic <br />Regulations for City Streets); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time amended <br /> Resolution No. 76-79; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of May 10, 1983, the City Council <br />received and discussed a report dated May 3, 1983 <br />from the Director of Public Works and Utilities <br />related to installation of three-way stop intersections <br />on Main Street at Bernal Avenue and St. Mary Street; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it was determined to be necessary to amend Resolution <br /> No. 76-79 to add subsections 3b-l, 3m-2, 3m-3 and 3s-~; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 76-79 (A Resolution Establishing <br />Traffic Regulations for City Streets) is hereby <br />amended by adding the following subsections to Section <br />3 (Stop Intersections): <br /> <br />3b-1 Bernal Avenue, at Main Street; stopping traffic <br /> on Bernal. <br /> <br />3m-2 Main Street, at Bernal Avenue; stopping traffic <br /> on Main Street in both directions. <br /> <br />3m-3 Main Street, at St. Marys Street; stopping traffic <br /> on Main Street in both directions. <br /> <br />3s-4 St. Marys Street, at Main Street; stopping <br /> traffic on St. Mary's street. <br /> <br />Section 2: Staff shall install the appropriate directional <br /> signing in the downtown area as suRgested by the Chamber <br /> of Commerce. <br /> <br />Section 3: Staff is directed to monitor the effects of these <br /> actions on traffic control in the downtown area over <br /> the next year and to report their effectiveness to <br /> the City Council in May, 1984, or earlier if unexpected <br /> developments should occur. <br /> <br /> <br />
