CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 83-188 RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 76-79 (ESTAB- LISHING TRAFFIC REGULATIONS FOR CITY STREETS) BY AMENDING SECTION 3 (STOP INTERSECTIONS) WHEREAS, on April 12, 1976, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 76-79 (A Resolution Establishing Traffic Regulations for City Streets); and WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time amended Resolution No. 76-79; and WHEREAS, at its meeting of May 10, 1983, the City Council received and discussed a report dated May 3, 1983 from the Director of Public Works and Utilities related to installation of three-way stop intersections on Main Street at Bernal Avenue and St. Mary Street; and WHEREAS, it was determined to be necessary to amend Resolution No. 76-79 to add subsections 3b-l, 3m-2, 3m-3 and 3s-~; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Resolution No. 76-79 (A Resolution Establishing Traffic Regulations for City Streets) is hereby amended by adding the following subsections to Section 3 (Stop Intersections): 3b-1 Bernal Avenue, at Main Street; stopping traffic on Bernal. 3m-2 Main Street, at Bernal Avenue; stopping traffic on Main Street in both directions. 3m-3 Main Street, at St. Marys Street; stopping traffic on Main Street in both directions. 3s-4 St. Marys Street, at Main Street; stopping traffic on St. Mary's street. Section 2: Staff shall install the appropriate directional signing in the downtown area as suRgested by the Chamber of Commerce. Section 3: Staff is directed to monitor the effects of these actions on traffic control in the downtown area over the next year and to report their effectiveness to the City Council in May, 1984, or earlier if unexpected developments should occur.
