CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-98 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REJECTING BID OF CAROLINE AND GOOCH FOR <br />SURPLUS CITY PROPERTY ON THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF <br />PETERS AVENUE AND BERNAL AVENUE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council declared the property located on <br />the northeast corner of the intersection of Peters <br />and Bernal Avenues as surplus; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />all agencies required by law were notified of <br />availability of this parcel and none of them <br />indicated an interest in the property; and <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />an advertisement was placed regarding this property <br />and only one bid was received which contained <br />several conditions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />if the property were rezoned from "0" (Office- <br />Commercial) to "C-C" (Community-Commercial), <br />development would be feasible and would require <br />fewer variances; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1: The City Council hereby rejects the conditional <br /> bid received from Kenneth Gooch and John Caroline <br /> for purchase of the property located on the northeast <br /> corner of Peters Avenue and Bernal Avenue as unresDonsive <br /> and invalid. <br /> <br />Section 2: The Planning Commission is directed to consider <br /> rezoning of the property to "C-C" (Community- <br /> Commercial). <br /> <br />Section 3: Upon adoption of the ordinance rezoninK the property, <br /> staff is directed to immediately readvertise for bids. <br /> <br />Section 4: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED MARCH 8, 1983 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - <br /> Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood and <br /> <br /> <br />
