CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 83-48 RESOLUTION REQUIRING FLAGMAN AT FOOTHILL ROAD AND WEST LAS POSITAS AND SETTING SPEED LIMIT AT 25 MPH DURING CONSTRUCTION PERIODS WHEREAS, on February 7, 1983, the Alameda County Planning Commission approved the application to allow gravel trucks leaving the Moller Quarry to proceed south on Foothill Road; and WHEREAS, a condition was added to this application requiring a flagman to be utilized at Foothill Road and West Las Positas during construction of the West Las Positas overcrossing project; and WHEREAS, no controls were added by the County at the entrance to Moller Quarry, since that was in the City and not under County jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, to increase safety during construction of the West Las Positas overcrossing, it is recommended that a flagman be posted at the entrance to the Moller Quarry and the speed limit be reduced to 25 mph in this area during the embankment construction period, which is to begin the end of March or first of April and continue for approximately 35 days; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The City hereby requires a flagman to be utilized at the Moller Quarry entrance on Foothill Boulevard during the construction period for the embankment of the West Las Positas overcrossing during such periods as trucks are hauling from the Moller Quarry to the overcrossing. This period is due to begin at the end of March or first of April and continue for approximately 35 days. Section 2: During the above-mentioned construction period, the speed limit from the entrance of Moller Quarry to the entrance to West Las Positas Boulevard shall be 25 mph.at those times when trucks are hauling from the Moller Quarry to the overcrossing.
