~iTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-43 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REGARDING THE DESIGNATION OF SERVICE DELIVERY AREAS <br />UNDER THE JOB TRAINING PARTNERSHIP ACT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton is a member of the consortium establishing the <br />Alameda County Training and Employment Board (ACTEB), the designated <br />Employment and Training Agency in Alameda County; and <br /> <br />the consortium comprised of twelve Alameda County cities and the unin- <br />corporated area of Alameda County was formed for the express purpose of <br />providing comprehensive employment and training services to the economi- <br />cally disadvantaged, underemployed, and unemployed persons of Alameda <br />County; and <br /> <br />the Federal legislation known as the Job Training Partnership Act re- <br />quires that application be made to the Governor of the State of California <br />to establish the Alameda County Training and Employment Board (ACTEB) as a <br />designated Service Delivery Area (SDA) under this legislation; and <br /> <br />it is the intent of the City of Pleasanton to remain within the consortium <br />designation represented in the Alameda County Training and Employment <br />Board (ACTEB). <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Pleasanton <br /> agrees to its continued membership in the consortium known as the Alameda <br /> County Training and Employment Board (ACTEB); and <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pleasanton agrees to enter into <br /> a Joint Powers Agreement with the members of the Alameda County Training <br /> and Employment Board (ACTEB) once the Governor of the State of California <br /> has designated this consortium as a Service Delivery Area (SDA) under the <br /> Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA); and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pleasanton requests <br /> that the Governor of the State of California take prompt action to approve <br /> the designation of the Alameda County Training and Employment Board con- <br /> sortium as a designated Service Delivery Area (SDA) for the purpose of <br /> providing employment and training services to the residents of Alameda <br /> County as authorized in the Job Training Partnership Act (JTFA). <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED FEBRUARY 8, 1983 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> ROB R <br />/Ja~mes R.
