CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-30 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DENYING THE APPLICATION OF DEL PRADO <br />HOMES TO CONVERT 94 RENTAL UNITS ON 3.8 ACRES OF <br />LAND LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF HOPYARD <br />ROAD AND GOLDEN ROAD TO CONDOMINIUMS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Del Prado Homes has applied to the City Council <br />for approval to convert 94 existing rental dwelling <br />units on approximately 3.8 acres of land located <br />at the southwest corner of Hopyard Road and Golden <br />Road (the apartments surrounding and including <br />those at 5196 Golden Road) to condominiums; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Director of Planning and Community Development <br />prepared a report to the Council dated January 20, <br />1983 in which he reviewed the project and recommended <br />several conditions should the project be approved; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />a duly noticed public hearing was held before the <br />Council at which time members of the public were <br />given the opportunity to speak regarding the <br />proposed conversion; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the number of parking spaces provided for the <br />proposed conversion are inadequate pursuant to <br />Title II, Chapter 2, Article 16, Section 2-9.16; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />applicant requested a waiver of rent controls in <br />conjunction with the conversion which Council was <br />averse to grant; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Denies without prejudice the application of Del <br /> Prado Homes to convert 94 rental units on 3.8 <br /> acres of land located at the southwest corner of <br /> Hopyard Road and Golden Road (the apartments <br /> surrounding and including those at 5196 Golden <br /> Road) to condominiums due to the failure of the <br /> proposed conversion to meet the requirements of <br /> Section 2-9.16 regarding parking. <br /> <br />Section 2: Finds that there needs to be more thorough investi- <br /> gation of alternative methods to provide needed <br /> <br /> <br />
