CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-17 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REAFFIRMING THE POLICY OF LIMITING <br />SERVICE ON BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS TO TWO TE~MS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />in order to maintain a fresh outlook and to obtain <br />new input from its members, it is appropriate to <br />limit the number of terms a member of any Board <br />or Commission of the City of Pleasanton to two <br />consecutive terms only; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />by putting this limit on service, it will allow <br />more members of the community to serve on these <br />Boards and Commissions and encourage more citizen <br />participation in the government of their city; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br /> The City Council does hereby reaffirm its policy <br />of limiting service on Boards and Commissions to <br />two consecutive terms only. If a citizen has been <br />appointed to fill a vacancy for only a partial term, <br />that citizen shall still be entitled to serve two <br />full terms. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED JLNUARY 11, 1983 BY THE FOLLOWING <br />VOTE: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmembers - Brandes, Mercer, Mohr and Mayor Butler <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Wood <br /> <br />~i~ George, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br /> D.
