EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />REGISTRAR OF VOTERS' CERTIFICATE TO REFERENDUM PETITION <br /> <br />I, James A. Riggs, Registrar of Voters of the County of Alameda, State of <br />California, hereby certify: <br /> <br />That at the time of the last official report of this office to the Secretary <br />of State of California, the total number of registered voters in the City of <br />Pleasanton was 18,790 ; <br /> <br />That the municipal referendum petition entitled "Repeal Ordinance #1056 - <br />Quail Creek Housing" has been submitted to this office for verification <br />by the City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton ; <br /> <br />lhat said petition consists of 47 sections containing 2,351 signatures; <br /> <br />That each section contains signatures purporting to be the signatures of <br />qualified voters of the City of Pleasanton ; <br /> <br />That attached to this petition at the time it was filed were affidavits <br />purporting to be the affidavits of the persons who solicited the signatures, <br />and containing the dates between which the purported qualified voters signed <br />this petition; <br /> <br />That the affiant stated his or her own qualifications, that he or she had <br />solicited the signatures upon that section, that all of the signatures were <br />made in his or her presence, and that to the best of his or her knowledge <br />and belief each signature to that section was the genuine signature of the <br />person whose name it purports to be; <br /> <br />That after this petition was received, in accordance with Sections 4009 and <br />3708 of the California Elections Code, I verified 500 signatures by examining <br />the records of registration in this County, current and in effect at the <br />respective purported dates of such signing to determine what number of qualified <br />voters signed the petition, and from that examination I have determined that of <br />these 466 are qualified voters of this County and the City-of Pleasanton <br />and that 34 signatures were not sufficient; <br /> <br />That said examination indicates that in excess of 93.2 percent of the 2,351 <br />signatures submitted are of qualified voters of th~ounty and the City of <br />Pleasanton , which number is 2,191 and that 2,191 voters is more <br />than llO percent of the required 1,879 <br /> <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, <br />this 29th day of <br /> <br />I have hereunto set my hand an ixed my official seal <br />December , 19 . ~/~f~ <br /> ~MES A.
