CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 84-508 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING POLICY AGAINST <br />DISCRIMINATION TOWARD THE DISABLED <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />it is the policy of the City of Pleasanton that <br />no citizen shall be denied the services provided <br />by the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />it is the intention of the City of Pleasanton that <br />disabled citizens of this community shall enjoy <br />equal access to all programs and activities pro- <br />vided by the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Federal government now requires that cities <br />receiving Federal financial assistance must plan for <br />the equal provision of services to the physically <br />and mentally disabled, the City of Pleasanton wishes <br />to formalize its policy of equal provision of services <br />in its programs and activities to the physically and <br />mentally disabled; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council of the City of Pleasanton adopts the <br /> following policy statement: <br /> <br />"It is the policy of the City of Pleasanton that all <br />services that are provided to the general public <br />are provided equally to the physically and mentally <br />disabled." <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED OCTOBER 16, 1984 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Counci~ers - Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood andMayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> TH R.
