CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 84-475 <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF LEASE/PURCHASE OF BACKHOE FOR SEWER <br />DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the 1984-85 Capital Improvement Program included funds <br />for the purchase of a replacement backhoe for the Sewer <br />Department; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Case Power and Equipment Company was the <br /> lowest received for the backhoe; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Case Power and Equipment Company offers a very low <br /> interest rate for financing municipal leases; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Assistant City Manager presented her report <br />recommending the financing be handled through the <br />manufacturer of the backhoe in order to take advantage <br />of the extremely low interest rate offered; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Approves the purchase of the Case 680H Backhoe for <br /> $55,384.94. <br /> <br />Section 2: Authorizes the City Manager to enter into a <br /> forty-eight (48) month lease/purchase agreement with the <br /> Case Power and Equipment Company at eight percent (8%) <br /> A.P.R., monthly lease payments not to exceed $1,343.14. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED OCTOBER 2, 1984 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brandes, <br /> Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Butler, Mohr, Wood and Mayor <br /> <br /> ~ET~H~~ <br /> <br />By Doris George, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />~e~'er .
