CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 84-465 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING NEGOTIATION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH RESOURCES FOR FAMILY DEVELOPMENT FOR CHILD CARE SERVICES AD AMENDING THE 1984-85 BUDGET TO INCLUDE $17,633 FOR CONTRACT SERVICES WHEREAS, because of the growing employment and increasing popula- tion, the Human Services Commission has completed an in depth study of the child care issue; and WHEREAS, the Director of Recreation and Human Resources presented her report dated September 5, 1984, which indicated the gap in Pleasanton's child care availability and child care need will widen if steps are not taken immediately; and WHEREAS, Resources for Family Development (RFD) is a non-profit tax exempt organization serving as an umbrella to pro- vide a variety of child care services in the area; and WHEREAS, RFD has submitted a proposal designed to increase quali- ty child care and development services for the City of Pleasanton; and WHEREAS, the Human Services Commission reviewed the proposal and is in support of the proposal if modified to include an objective clearly placing the City in an active partner- ship with employers and RFD to assure quality child care is available in Pleasanton; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Council authorizes staff to negotiate an agreement with Resources for Family Development for child care services. Section 2: Amends the 1984-85 budget to include $17,633 for con- tract services with RFD from October 1, 1984 to June 30, 1985.
