CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 84-465 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING NEGOTIATION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH <br />RESOURCES FOR FAMILY DEVELOPMENT FOR CHILD CARE SERVICES <br />AD AMENDING THE 1984-85 BUDGET TO INCLUDE $17,633 FOR <br />CONTRACT SERVICES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />because of the growing employment and increasing popula- <br />tion, the Human Services Commission has completed an in <br />depth study of the child care issue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Director of Recreation and Human Resources presented <br />her report dated September 5, 1984, which indicated the <br />gap in Pleasanton's child care availability and child <br />care need will widen if steps are not taken immediately; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Resources for Family Development (RFD) is a non-profit <br />tax exempt organization serving as an umbrella to pro- <br />vide a variety of child care services in the area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />RFD has submitted a proposal designed to increase quali- <br />ty child care and development services for the City of <br />Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Human Services Commission reviewed the proposal and <br />is in support of the proposal if modified to include an <br />objective clearly placing the City in an active partner- <br />ship with employers and RFD to assure quality child care <br />is available in Pleasanton; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Council authorizes staff to negotiate an agreement <br /> with Resources for Family Development for child care <br /> services. <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />2: Amends the 1984-85 budget to include $17,633 for con- <br />tract services with RFD from October 1, 1984 to June 30, <br />1985. <br /> <br />Section: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 11, 1984 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> <br />
