CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 84-418 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DENYING THE REQUEST FROM HELMUT AND <br />ADELE STONAWSKI FOR ANNEXATION OF THEIR PROPERTY <br />AT 336 SYCAMORE ROAD OR FOR INCREASE IN PREVIOUSLY <br />APPROVED UTILITY CAPACITY TO ALLOW CONSTRUCTION <br />OF A RESIDENTIAL CARE HOME <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />in November, 1982, Council authorized connection of <br />the residence at 336 Sycamore Road to the City sewer <br />system subject to entering into a pre-annexation <br />agreement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />the property was not annexed at that time due to the <br />pending "Happy Valley Study"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Stonawskis are now requesting annexation of their <br />property with the intention of developing it as a <br />49-bed residential care home for seniors or in the <br />alternative to increase their sewer and water capacity <br />and for the City not to oppose their application for <br />a County Use Permit; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />it is the opinion of the City that the proposed <br />residential care home is not appropriate for this <br />location and it is contrary to Council's policy to <br />allow unincorporated parcels to connect to City sewer <br />and/or water except where necessitated by health <br />hazards for existing residences; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Denies the request of Helmut and Adele Stonawski <br /> for annexation of their property at 336 Sycamore Road. <br /> <br />Section 2: Denies the request for additional sewer and water <br /> capacity. <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />3: Directs staff to advise the County Planning Depart- <br /> ment that Council is opposed to development of the <br /> proposed residential care home. <br /> <br />Section 4: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED AUGUST 14, 1984 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> <br />
