RESOLUTION NO. 09-281 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, <br />AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION TO THE METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION <br />COMMISSION FOR ALLOCATION OF TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT <br />ARTICLE 3 FUNDS <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) requires a resolution of <br />support for Transportation Development Act (TDA) applications; and <br />WHEREAS, Article 3 of the Transportation Development Act (TDA), Public Utilities Code <br />(PUC) Section 99200 et seq., authorizes the submission of claims to a regional transportation <br />planning agency for the funding of projects exclusively for the benefit and/or use of pedestrians <br />and bicyclists; and <br />WHEREAS, improvements to bicycle and pedestrian facilities will help to encourage <br />these non motorized forms of transportation; and <br />WHEREAS, installation of bicycle detection loops at signalized intersections and <br />installation of bicycle racks at City facilities will promote bicycle travel; and <br />WHEREAS, the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee has reviewed this project; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this project is categorically exempt under the requirements of CEQA. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br />Section 1: This Council authorizes an application with the Metropolitan Transportation <br />Commission for $110,449 for the installation of bicycle detection equipment at selected <br />signalized intersections and installation of bicycle racks at City facilities. <br />Section 2: City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and enter it into the book <br />of original resolutions. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br />a regular meeting held on May 5, 2009. <br />I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br />resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 5`" day of May, <br />2009, by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorn Mayor Hosterman <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: None <br />Kare Diaz, City Clerk <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />G~?~J~ <br />Michael H.
