Staff supports the PDA's view that a downtown wayfinding sign program is an important
element in attracting patrons to the Downtown area to support the long-term economic
vitality of the commercial district. Many other cities in California and across the nation
have installed similar wayfinding sign programs to help navigation to, and around, their
downtowns. Staff recommends City Council approve the Downtown wayfinding sign
program and sign design, and authorize staff to make and install the signs. The signs
will be installed as allowed by the City's municipal code and all other applicable traffic
regulations.
Submitted by:
amela Ott
Director of Economic
Development
Fiscal Review:
_ ~
~ /gyp ~ i
David P.
