This resulted In the lowest figure; under $29,000. The second
method is an estimate of the requirement for various tests and activities
derived from the BID ITEMS* In the contract documents. This resulted
In the highest figure; approximately $40,000. The third figure Is based
upon a MAN-HOUR ESTIMATE of the days allocated for the various stages
of construction as designated In the contract documents. Rough figures
of 10 man-days for Stage I, 100 man-days for Stages II g IV and 10 man-
days for off-site (precast work) indicate an amount of just over $34,000.

*Rough take-offs from the BID ITEMS (and, therefore, the scope
of testing services) included:

124,000 CY

8,900 LF

49, 000 Tons
900 CY

Excavations (Limited Field Density Tests
and Curves),
Utility Trenches (Field Density Tests and
Curves),
Aggregate Base (FIeld Density Tests and
Curves),
Structural Backfill (Field Density T~sts
and Curves),

Soil E'nRineering, Engineering Geology · Engineering Laboratories · Chemical Laboratories

[] Fresno, Cahfornia93706 14145tanislausStreet Telephone{2093485-R310
E~ Viialia, California 93278 3901 So Moohey Rlvd, P O Box 3236 (209) 732-8857
[] Bakersfield, Califorma 93304 117 "V" Streel Telephone (8051327~1~71
D~ Pleasanton, California 94566 5729-C Sonoma Drwe Telephone [415)462-4000
