community at Kottinger Place through her excellent management skills, her leadership in <br />facilitating a wide range of resident activities, and her caring demeanor and pleasant <br />conversation; and whereas, Susan has contributed substantially to the Housing <br />Commission through her enthusiasm, her commitment, her faithful attendance at <br />meetings and her hands-on knowledge of senior issues; and whereas, the contributions <br />made by Susan have helped the Commission in its colt of promoting senior affordable <br />housing in Pleasanton; and whereas, the Housing Commission appreciates Susan's long- <br />standing enthusiasm and dedication to her role as on-site administrator at Kottinger Place; <br />now, therefore, be it resolved that the [[ousing Commission does hereby recognize and <br />commend Susan Batchelder and expresses its sincere appreciation for her years of service <br />to Kottinger Place and the Housing Authority of "fhe City of Pleasanton. <br />The commendation was approved by unanimous consent. <br />Since Ms. E3achelder did not attend the meeting it was agreed that if she were unable to <br />attend a future meeting the commendation would be sent to her with thanks for her work <br />over the past several years. <br />As included under item SC on the Consent Calendar, Commissioner Stark thanked Mr. <br />Erickson for putting together the application to the National Association of Realtors <br />which resulted in the BayEast Association of Realtors receiving the Ambassadors for <br />Cities award for its work in promoting the development of the Tri-Valley I lousing <br />Opportunity Center. Commissioner Stark noted that the Tri-Valley was one of only live <br />jurisdictions throughout the counhy to receive this recognition. <br />I0. DISCUSSION OF AG[;NDA AND SCHEllULF. FOR APRIL 16, 2009, M1~'.F,TING <br />Scott Erickson advised that staff expects the two new commissioners to attend the April <br />meeting. The agenda for the meeting will tentatively include the following items: <br />• Introduction of new commissioners and alternate <br />• Approval of annual Operating C3udget for Kottinger Place for fiscal year 2009/l0 <br />• Approval of annual Agency Plan Update for the Pleasanton I[ousing Authority <br />• Workshop regarding the City's housing programs and general housing issues <br />Commissioner Stark requested the Commission be provided an update on the City's <br />Housing Element Mr. Bocian advised that data is still being collected and that work on <br />the document is anticipated to be completed mainly in-house by City staff. <br />Commissioner Stark also discussed with Mr. 13ocian details of the Windstar apartment <br />complex adjacent to the BAR"f station including its financing and affordability. Mr. <br />I3ocian also provided information about the senior complex at Staples Ranch and advised <br />that this would soon be moved forward to the Planning Commission.
