THE CITY OF
~L~~S~4NTON.:
CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
April 7, 2009
Mayor & City Council
TITLE: COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS
SUMMARY
In accordance with commission appointment policies, in the spring and fall the City
solicits applications from interested Pleasanton residents to serve on the City's standing
commissions and committees, as well as on regional boards and commissions to which
the City appoints representatives.
Last fall, the City solicited applications to fill vacancies for terms expiring on September
30, 2008. Applications were received and interviews held. The Mayor's appointments
are listed on the following page. As that process took much longer than normal, we find
ourselves in what should be the spring cycle of filling commission vacancies. To ensure
continuity in service to the extent possible, the Mayor has included in this report her
reappointments of commissioners whose terms expire on April 30, 2009 and who are
eligible, interested in being reappointed and chosen for reappointment. Also included
are those commissioners who, as a result of other openings, are changing status from
alternates to regular members. The City will publish remaining vacancies beginning the
end of this week.
RECOMMENDATION
The Council is asked to ratify the Mayor's appointments to various City commissions
and committees as listed on the attached table.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
There is no fiscal impact.
Approve by:
~y ~~~~1'~' ~~
J nnifer" Hosterman
Mayor
18
