CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 84-335 <br /> <br />REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO VALLEY <br />TIMES FOR PUBLICATION OF LEGAL NOTICES FOR <br />FISCAL YEAR 1984-85 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Section 20169 of the California Public Contract's <br />Code requires each city with more than one newspaper <br />of general circulation to bid annually the city's <br />contract to publish its legal notices; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />specifications were prepared by the Assistant City <br />Manager and bids were submitted by the city's two <br />newspapers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, bids were reviewed by the City Council on July 10, <br /> 1984; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the bid of the Valley Times was determined to be <br />the lowest responsible bid and the Assistant City <br />Manager recommended that the bid of the Valley Times <br />be accepted; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The bid of the "Valley Times" for publication of <br /> the city's legal notices for fiscal year 1984-85 is <br /> hereby accepted by the City Council as the lowest <br /> responsible bid. <br /> <br />Section 2: The Mayor is authorized to execute a contract with the <br /> "Valley Times" containing the information set forth in <br /> the bid package for publication of legal notices. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective i~mediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED JULY 10, 1984 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood <br /> and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />By Doris George, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
