The City Council declared by resolution the above listed property a nuisance <br />that shall be abated. <br />Action Required: Abate the hazard by May 31, 2009, by removing the accumulation and growth of grass, <br />wecds and/or combustible trash in a manner approved by the Fire Department per the enclosed standards and <br />maintain the propetTy in a fire safe condition. <br />A copy of the specific standards for weed abatement is enclosed. Hazards include, but are not limited to, dead <br />trees, dcnd shrubs, dry grass and trash as well as dirt and/or debris which would hamper Fire Deparuncnt <br />access to the site should there be a tire. <br />Alternative: Submit a copy of a contract signed by a weed abatement contractor to the Fire Department <br />before May 08, 2009. The contract must have a specified completion date and the job must be completed by <br />June 7. 2009. <br />A hearing for objections by property owners will be held at the City Council meeting on April 31.2009. By <br />resolution, the City Council ruled on the objections and directed the City contractor to abate wecds beginning <br />June I, 2009. [f the fire hazard has not been properly abated at the time the City contractor arrives at the <br />property, then the contractor will abate the hazard. The owner of die land will be assessed the cost of <br />abatement and disposal fees, plus an administrative assessment of one hundred percent (100/r) of die <br />abatement costs.
