CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 84-321 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF THE CITY <br />OF PLEASANTON TO CHANGE THE GENERAL PLAN DESIGNA- <br />TION OF THE NORTHERLY 10 ACRES OF THE 20.5 ACRE <br />CITY-OWNED PARCEL LOCATED WEST OF THE SPRR RIGHT- <br />OF-WAY FROM "GENERAL AND LIMITED INDUSTRIAL" TO <br />THE "HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL" DISTRICT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council, at its meeting of June 26, 1984, <br />received a proposed application from the City of <br />Pleasanton for a change to the General Plan designa- <br />tion of the approximately 17 acre City Corporation <br />Yard located at 5335 Sunol Boulevard and the approx- <br />imately 20.5 acre City-owned parcel located west of <br />the Corporation Yard immediately west of the SPRR <br />right-of-way from "Public and Institutional" and <br />"General and Limited Industrial" to the "Public and <br />Institutional", "Parks and Recreation" and "High <br />Density Residential" Districts; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Council considered a report, together with attachments, <br />from the Director of Planning and Con~f~unity Development <br />regarding the proposed General Plan amendment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />the City Council determined that a Negative Declaration <br />was appropriate for the proposed General Plan amendment <br />and adopted Resolution No. 84-320 approving the <br />Negative Declaration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />a duly noticed public hearing was held at which time <br />any member of the public was offered the opportunity <br />to address the City Council on the proposed amendment; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />after the close of the public hearing, Council deliberated <br />on the proposed General Plan amendment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Council determined that it was premature to change the <br />General Plan designation on all of the property studied, <br />but that it was necessary to change the General Plan <br />designation to accommodate the proposed lower-income <br />elderly housing project; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br /> The City Council approves the application of the <br />City of Pleasanton for a change to the General Plan <br />designation of the northerly approximately 10 acres <br /> <br /> <br />
